How long does nook battery last
Feb 06, AM. I have not been satisfied with the life of the battery in my Nook since I got it in November. I keep it on airplane mode all of the time and am seldom on Wi-Fi. I probably am only getting a couple of days on the battery if I am lucky. Called Support yesterday and they are sending a new battery that should be here in a couple of days! Glad I called them. Hopefully, I will get more life when the new one in put in. I usually get about 4 days out of mine I charged it last Wednesday and had to recharge it last night.
If I read more it needs more charging. I'm glad they are sending you a new battery. Hopefully it'll work better. I might be the odd one, but I get almost two weeks on a charge. Got my nook last June. I hope the new battery makes a difference also, but regardless, I am so addicted to my Nook that I will use it constantly anyway!!
WOW Liz! That's awesome Wish mine lasted that long. I suspect though that the fact that I'll read it a few minutes and then let it sleep, read a few minutes and etc. The longest I sit to read is when I'm going to bed and I'll read for about 30 minutes to an hour. I never thought about that. I rarely put it in airplane mode to save battery life--unless I'm on an airplane. But when I read, I generally read for long periods.
Feb 06, PM. I also like having it in airplane mode because when I disable it then it automatically hooks up to the internet. Then I just enable it when I am done and it disconnects me. Just saves a step so it isn't a big deal, but I like it. Feb 10, PM. I have had good luck with my battery life. I can usually go a week without having to charge to it. I know the battery is replaceable.
Having done a cursory search of batteries, I see what you mean. My NST was still holding a very good charge when I traded it in against a tablet at three years old last year.
I even have a 10 year old Zune MP3 player which keeps on working. I use them both and recharge them about once every 2 weeks. I rarely use the glowlight but charge it once a month or so. I went online and looked at replacing the battery and found that there is a place right here in Ontario that could sell me a replacement battery.
I took the back apart took seconds to get the battery out and the replacement battery looks like Danica little take me seconds to put back in. The battery is going to cost me 40 some dollars so the question is is it worth doing?
The whole replace in 3 years? Yeah, cell phones, tablets, sure that makes sense. But if all you want is something that you can download an Epub onto and then read it, why would I need new tech for that? I guess I could almost answer my own question. It took hours for it to charge completely. I was surprised with that because I left it to charge. BUT after just a year, its starting to drain too quickly after charging.
I might get a powerbank that plugs in directly like an iwalk docking one that can be plugged in all the time, and when that dies I can open it up and replace the AA rechargable battery inside very cheaply if i can open it without breaking.
