Shania twain why not premiere
By David Knowles. Question: Why has Shania Twain , that spunky crossover country-pop minx who sold more records than any female artist in history, stopped singing? Well, pull up a chair. With Shania Twain" solves the mystery as to why the singer stopped performing and recording, but it won't likely assure her fans that a successful comeback is in the wings.
After being hit with this succession of sucker punches, Twain discovers she can no longer bring herself to sing for her adoring fans, let alone write a new album full of hits. Fortunately, reality television is here to help, and Twain does what any woman in her situation would do: she boards a tour bus with a film crew and sets out to conquer her demons in a very public way.
Accompanied by her younger sister, Carrie Anne Brown, and largely filmed by her new husband, Fred Thiebaud yes, the guy who was married to Marie-Anne before the messy wife swap went down , the result is a sometimes compelling, sometimes turgid program that feels equal parts emotional rescue and public relations coup.
Shania Twain opened up so completely it's as though she unzipped a hoodie and let everything she's been holding close to her chest fall to the table for viewers to pick and sort through. It's certainly the type of therapy TV that Oprah Winfrey fans and watchers like to indulge in, and that's why OWN -- Oprah Winfrey Network -- is the perfect nesting place for such a show.
I just can't express myself. Obviously, things have changed markedly for Twain, as she expressed herself quite publicly in the first episode of this gripping, can't-look-away docu-series.
It's too serious and too personal to be categorized as a reality show, but it does turn the microscope on Twain's real life. But things are far from perfect for the woman who holds the distinction of being the biggest selling female country artist. I have everything I could ever want in life.
Why am I so unhappy?
