When is revlon whipped foundation coming to canada
Since I, too, would prefer not to layer Dimethicone primer underneath a Dimethecone foundation, I wonder whether using milk of magnesia as a primer instead might help with the pore-pooling problem? I tried this recently in the lightest shade Ivory.
Purchased hoping it was light like the mousse foundation in vanilla. It was way too dark for my porcelain complexion so I returned it. I'm so sorry.
Have I been living under a rock?? I thought u were in your early 20's!! Anyways great review, I am going to wait till I can get it on major sale! I've tried this also, and the pooling in the pores was awful after a few hours.
I also found that if I sweat at all, which I am doing a lot of here in the east coast heatwave, the foundation becomes patchy. Back to the the quest for me Please, please try it with a stippling brush!
It eliminated the pooling for me! Thanks for reviewing this! I wish it came in a tube though since it seems liquid enough. Not sure if I will purchase though. I wanna try this so bad but Revlon does not have my shade. Im NC 45 in Mac. Toast was my exact match! I wasn't able to get a decent color match in this and for some reason, every time I applied it,my face itched. Especially my chin. After looking at the very long list of ingredients, I can see now where quite a few of them could be irritants for some people.
Although I liked the texture of the foundation, that was about all. Thank you for this review, it prompted me to bust out the jar again for another test drive. Last month, I thought it may have broken me out, but it was also that time of the month so it's hard to say.
So today I only put it on the left side of my forehead for a more controlled study. Yes, it blends into my skin well enough to do that! So I'll see how it goes. I do find the finish beautiful, and the salcylic acid makes me think that maybe it's not SO bad if it pools up in pores, 'cause maybe it can do a little exfoliating down there. But the ingredients with "paraffin" in them have me a little concerned.
I'm no chemist, but the thought of stuffing paraffin in my sebaceous glands along with all the mites and bacteria that are already in there is just a little icky to me. Thank you SO much for the shade rec!! And give it a try with a stippling brush Thanks for the great review. I've been looking to try a new foundation since I'm running low on my dream liquid mousse.
I love the finish it gives me, but the staying power is horrible Xo. You're so welcome! I'd love to know what you think if you try it! I tried this in the lightest sahde I could find there were only 6 shades in the display-can't remember the name I picked. I didn't like this stuff. I'm thinking it was because of the salicylic acid in it, because I have the Almay foundation with salicylic acid and I had the same reaction to it.
I returned the Revlon Whipped Cream foundation. It's very interesting you mention this.. I've never done well with acids, especially strong ones, but figured there was probably not much in there since it was a foundation intended to be worn all day, every day. Wore it yesterday, skin felt really wrong, not burning but itchy and gross, figured it was the sticky texture. Today I wore a different foundation, was outside for a while, but had on spf so I should not have had a problem. By the time I came in to shower my face was beet red.
I thought it was a sunburn, even with the spf, but then I took off my ball cap and it was my whole face, even the part the hat covered. Took a shower and still red, slightly painful. I can't imagine what else it could be SO sorry to hear that and thanks for the good feedback. Thank you for this post, I was going to try this, but I think I should wait until winter. Have a great day! I also bought this and returned it. There's rarely a product out there, foundation wise, that doesn't cake something fierce on me no matter how lightly I apply I apply it.
I tried applying this lightly and it seemed to look fantastic at first. At the end of the day was cakey city though. I don't know if I'm expecting full coverage and only getting medium but I'd hope any foundation could simply cover up redness, my large pores, and even out my skin.
This really didn't do any of that for me. So back it went. I was disappointed because I thought with it being a ""cream"" foundation it'd not cake on my skin. To those wondering, this sits on your skin like mousse foundations. I know you already returned it, but I find that it really works great and eliminates the issues you mentioned when you apply with a stippling brush, per my update.
Since i read your reviews for my mama 70 im not sure to get this for her or not. She has mature skin but no blemishes. She wants an airbrushed look. She keeps thinking her results will be like Halle Berry's. If your mom tries it, suggest a stippling brush, like I used in my update. It really does give an airbrushed effect!
Good luck, And i hope she finds something she loves! It worked great for me and covered my red cheeks and some fine lines around my eyes. Plus, it stayed strong during a 12 hour , hot day to which is really great i do have fair skin and the nude was a bit to light for me. I need to try the new brush method to see what difference it might make for me. I'm glad to hear it's working for you, and I can't wait to hear how it works with the brush!
I'm so glad this application worked out for you! I also have the ecotools brush and it works really well for some of my foundations. I would be really careful though because its not intended for wet application. And when you say to be careful, can I ask what you mean? I've used that brush a zillion times with cream blushes and other liquid foundations and never once had an issue? Revlon disappeared from Finland somewhere during the 90's and now they are coming up with all these cool new products, that I just need to try, but can't cause Revlon isnt' here.
I do like your reviews! Aaaaw, what a bummer!! That's like Max Factor here in the US! Just a thought though G, putting the foundation on the lid would be a pain to clean up. I would just use the back of my hand, or a flat surface people use a CD, or pastry cutter, or even a professional metal plate. I have switched to stippling brushes and flat top brushes for foundation a while ago, the traditional foundation brushes just won't cut it.
I haven't had any problems I just give the lid a good rinse with got water after every use, and dry it off with a paper towel. I might give them a whirl if I get sick of washing the lid! I'm also jumping the gun by reviewing it because I just got it yesterday!
So far, though, I really like it. I'm having a lot of breakouts right now, and the coverage of this is enough to hide almost all redness. I needed the tiniest bit of concealer today. I also really love the way it feels on my face, at least with a setting powder. If I touch my face, I can't even really tell I'm wearing foundation, which is so impressive to me because so many products feel sticky and heavy.
I've been experimenting with stippling brushes and found that it applied this really well, so I definitely agree with you. Thanks for the review! So glad to hear this is working for you so far, and i'm really glad the stippling brush works for you too! Looks totally flawless! Haven't touched another foundation since I've bought this one! Just went and bought an EcoTools kabuki today! G- thanks so much for the updated review! The Real Techniques brushes has one, it's very very good.
Thanks for the great review i was very exited about this foundation but noone else had posted to ingredients im allergic to silicone based primer which means for more then i want to i cant use it sucks i looks good thanks for helping save money. Thank you for the great and detailed review about this product. I have been eyeing this since it came out.
Now, I'm completely sold! I'm your new follower and I really love your blog. Please keep on posting :. I live in Mississippi, and Revlon Colorstay is the only foundation that I've found in any price range that will not melt off despite humidity and sweating and NOT be a cakey mess.
Thanks for the update on application with a stippling brush. If I hadn't seen that, I wouldn't have picked this up at all. I love this foundation, I just recently purchased it.. I use a stippling brush by Real Techniques with this foundation as I dont have any stippling brushes.. I also have the laura mercier silk creme foundation in the shade- Medium ivory Love this new revlon whipped foundation , I have dry skin and it is long wearing on my skin with a moisturizer and a primer before i apply it.
What a great tip! I'm going to get this brush! I love this stuff. Learn More - opens in a new window or tab. Related sponsored items. Showing Slide 1 of 3. New New New. I tested it also without the primer and setting spray, but still it is reviving my healed breakouts Having been using this since high school I'm now I have tried almost every foundation out there, both high end and drugstore but always find myself coming back to this one.
Applies easily and can last pretty well through a 12 hour work day in all seasons. Will continue to use this foundation, highly recommend giving it a try. It is nearly impossible to pick the correct shade. The shade I thought I was, caramel, is much too orange.
Went back the next day and the young lady suggested Toffee. Still too orange. I ended up buying golden caramel and add a slightly darker foundation to come up with my shade. My whole point was to not have too mix shades. I have extremely oily skin so I know a good matte foundation when I find one. With this foundation I was blotting with oil blotting sheets before noon.
It's not as awesome as advertised. I love this foundation. The only issue i have is after buying i found out it wasn't cruelty free which is disappointing. Great coverage. Great value for the amount of product. I only have to use about pumps to cover my whole face. This used to be my holy grail foundation. It was the perfect shade and the staying power was great for my oily skin.
Then, like everyone else is saying, they changed it. My original color is far too dark now and the formula is so much thinner for some reason. Won't be repurchasing. I've used Revlon Colorstay since I was a teen, so I've used it many, many years. It seems to work really well with my skin, which is very oily and acne-prone. I usually do use a mattifying moisturizer or primer with this honestly, with any makeup.
Because my skin is so oily, I still have to use blotters but only after around five hours. Still, even when I do have some shine, it looks dewy and not greasy with this makeup. I use shade which is natural beige; so I'm a lighter medium with cool undertones in the winter months. In the summer, I wear the which is medium with warm undertones since I tan easily. Both match my skin perfectly for when I'm tanned vs not tanned. I don't find the formula heavy, but I do miss the Whipped version of this makeup; it was great for summer.
I will say that if one finds this too heavy, try Clinique Stay Matte; it's very similar to Colorstay and it's great for oily skin too. Overall, this is great if your skin is super oily and the price point is good too. This is just terrible foundation. Even when using a primer, and a setting spray this doesn't last very long. Settles into every line, pore, dry patches! Looks VERY orange.
I had high hopes because I absolutely love the pressed powder but the foundation is just a no. Shade match is perfect. Could be a little more full coverage but it works fine. I see lots of comments about not being able to find your right shade for foundations If you want to try one brand in particular but have no idea what shade you would be, it also allows you to choose a specific brand and it will match you right up to what you're currently using!
It's so easy! The OG formula was amazing. I don't know why they would change it. Not worth buying anymore. The old formula would get five stars. This new one barely 2. I have used this foundation for years. I think in the last few bottles I bought the formula has changed.
I love this product but liked the other formula a lot better. Contains terrible ingredients for your skin. Your skin will suffer from using this. Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself and wake up with beautiful cystic acne growing lumps under your skin. Revlon, it's People actually care about what they put on their faces for makeup products now.
